Group Head of Risk - Crypto
Our client is redefining how risk is managed in the fast-moving worlds of online gaming, crypto, and fintech. We are looking for a Head of Risk - Crypto who can build and own the risk function from the ground up, turning complex problems into clear, scalable processes. You will lead forensic investigations, design detection frameworks, and work closely with product, engineering, finance, compliance, and support to protect users and the business without slowing product velocity.
This role is remote across Europe, offering the flexibility to work from wherever you are while staying connected to a lean, ambitious team. This is not a traditional corporate setting; we are upfront about the challenges and the mission. If you thrive in ambiguity, are fluent in data, and want to shape a growing company’s destiny, you could be the right fit.
- Build and lead the risk function from scratch, including processes, frameworks, tools, and operational workflows.
- Conduct deep forensic investigations into fraud, abuse vectors, payment risks, and platform vulnerabilities.
- Audit product flows and internal procedures, identifying weak points and designing risk-mitigation systems.
- Monitor payments, deposits, withdrawals, and cross-channel transaction anomalies and exposure.
- Analyse high-volume behavioural, transactional, and game data to detect anomalies and fraud rings.
- Implement risk scoring, detection logic, automated rules, and alerting mechanisms.
- Lead incident response for major fraud or risk events, and oversee player protections, sanctions, and limits.
- Build and mentor a team of analysts and investigators, and partner with product, engineering, finance, compliance, and support.
- 5–10+ years of experience in fraud, forensic investigation, risk management, or security; online gambling or crypto preferred; strong stakeholder communication.
As part of our client, you’ll join a mission-driven team ready to push boundaries. The role offers exposure to advanced risk technologies, and the chance to shape how risk is managed at scale, while keeping product velocity intact.
